Jan van der Laan, born in 1960, started his career as a sculptor in 2000. His early apprenticeship was with the renowned sculptor from The Hague, Mark Rietmeijer, until 2004, when he embarked on his own path as an independent sculptor.
Jan van der Laan’s artistic expression is a distinctive fusion of the organic, flowing beauty found in nature and the precision of geometric abstraction. Each of his sculptures is a truly distinctive work of art, meticulously handcrafted from natural stone or bronze.
